Explore & Develop Abbotsford is a NEW purpose-built service set in the heritage Chatham House, opening August 2020.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced childcare cook to join our Education and Care Service. This position is for a Part-time Cook with the hours set at 8:30-3:00pm Monday to Friday. We provide Breakfast, Morning Tea, Lunch, Afternoon Tea and Late Snack to pass the children over to dinner each day.

Job Description:

• Plan and prepare nutritious, well-presented, appropriate meals and snacks for the children
• Develop a seasonal, nutritious menu that respects individual requirements i.e. medical conditions, food preferences and cultural considerations
• Ensuring children’s health and wellbeing

• Build strong relationships with children, educators, families and the entire centre community
• Ensuring best practice food safety and hygienic standards are always upheld within the kitchen

Essential Criteria:

• Food Handling certificate
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher is desirable
• Food Safety Supervisor certificate, is highly desirable
• An awareness of your personal responsibilities under the current Child Protection Laws
• Passion for working in a small and respectful team
• Customer and quality orientated approach
