Cherie

As owner, Cherie supports a skilled team of educators to deliver the best outcomes for your children. She believes in open, authentic and honest relationships and providing a safe space for your child and family to flourish.

A highly skilled educator, Cherie has almost three decades of experience in the early childhood education and care sector.

Our approach

Explore & Develop Frenchs Forest offers the convenience of a local service nestled within a bush setting. Bush turkeys, rabbits and lizards are our daily visitors. We also have a dedicated library, an art space, vegetable garden, outdoor eating and barbeque area.

With over 500 sqm of play space that connects to a natural bushland setting, your child will feel they can, run, play and learn.

  • It’s always going to be daunting leaving your child (especially your first!) in the care of others for the first time but from the instant we met the team of educators, our minds were put at ease. Our son had a fabulous transition and was so well supported in every way since that first day. The educators go out of their way to nurture your child’s interests and strengths, the communication is outstanding (I love seeing the daily updates) and the food is incredible. Our son doesn’t even look back when he runs in the door now! The centre is so warm and friendly, we couldn’t speak high enough of the team.

  • This centre is incredible, the staff are wonderful, the playground is peaceful and most importantly the kids are happy … We have now had two children through the centre until today when our youngest started his first day of school, and hats off to E&D, both kids have been well and truly prepared for school and the bigger world. It has been emotional to leave the centre as they feel like an extension of our family and we’d strongly recommend E&D Frenchs Forest to anyone looking for the best for their young children.

  • Explore and Develop Frenchs Forest has been part of our family for 8 years …. we cannot speak more highly of the centre and could not imagine a better place for our children to have called their second home all these years. Our daughters have always enjoyed the centre, the mix of structure and free play has suited them perfectly. They loved their time outdoors, the library visits, the rainy days inside and there was never a day when they didn’t looked forward to going back which is a true testimony to the nurturing and ever evolving learning experience that E&D provides. Our children have made lifelong friends and through them so did we. The creativity of the teaching staff never ceased to amaze us, we always appreciated the sustainable approach and work with nature. The staff are friendly, kind, approachable and always there to answer whatever questions we might have. We will be forever grateful for having found such a wonderful place for our children’s formative years.

  • Having had experience with other daycares, E&D is far superior in our experience. The centre itself is well laid out with great outdoor space, the communication is excellent, and the staff are nurturing, caring & approachable. Our eldest loves her time there and I often get in trouble if I pick her up early!

  • Three of my four children have attended Explore & Develop Frenchs Forest over a period spanning 7 Yyears … I cannot speak highly enough of the staff members in each and every room who are always happy, warm and nurturing educators. In my experience, the Educators have always placed my children’s needs at the forefront of their care provision and are always ready to provide feedback on a daily basis.

    The ability to access the Kinderloop app from my phone on a daily basis allows me to see what my children are experiencing and reassures me that they are having a wonderful time at Kindy.
    The meals that are provided seem to go down better with my children than my own home cooked foods and I would highly recommend Explore & Develop Frenchs Forest to anyone considering Long Day Care for their child/children.

  • My daughter is currently enrolled at Explore & Develop Frenchs Forest and absolutely loves it! The daily curriculum and activities are creative, diverse, fun and developmentally appropriate. The carers do a great job encouraging curiosity and each child’s individual interests. I appreciate the updates I can view each day via the app. It’s great to see pictures of my daughter happy, learning and exploring new things while I’m at work. The environment and classroom space is comfortable and cheerful. As a new parent, I have been most appreciative of how loving, welcoming, understanding, accommodating and supportive the carers and staff have been.   • Explore & Develop Frenchs Forest offers an exceptionally professional, high quality and caring service. It’s undoubtedly one of the best early learning centres on the Northern Beaches. My two kids have been going to E&D for a couple of years and we have always felt each educator really takes the time to foster each child’s development and offer them individual care. The care and service is always delivered to the highest possible standard and their communication is outstanding.   • Letting someone else look after your children is tough. You know they will be ok and a quick observation of their learning space will confirm they are going to learn, grow and develop with such a carefully thought out and interactive space. What you don’t know is if they will be cared for with real heartfelt compassion. At Explore and Develop they look after my children like their own. You cannot manufacture their enthusiasm, their care or the love they show. I am dreading the day when my youngest graduates… thankfully I have a few years left.

Koala/Wombat

Outdoor environment

We feel privileged to be nestled amongst a beautiful bushland setting. Each day we are able to climb, run, explore and be physically challenged.

We can often see rabbits, bush turkeys & blue tongue lizards wandering by whilst we work in our garden that is tended to by the children.

    We had a wonderful experience with Explore & Develop Frenchs Forest. Fabulous educators, fantastic facilities with lots of outdoor and indoor play options, a wonderful meal program – and was just generally a lovely centre to be part of. Our girls were always supported and really thrived in their learning, and we always knew they were cared for and safe. Thank you to Cherie and the team.

    My son started at E&D when he was only 12mo and as a first time parent, I cannot express my gratitude enough for how caring the team in the Joeys room was in helping him settle in. They are amazing at communicating how your child is doing during the day and I loved seeing the connection all educators built with my son. Also, since starting at E&D I could clearly see how his development was accelerated which talks to the programs they run for the children. I appreciate the care E&D team has always given us as a family and would highly recommend this centre.

    Our little one has recently started at E&D Frenchs Forest in the baby room ("Joeys"), and we are so impressed. The team go above and beyond to get to know our bub, and our routine to help him adjust, and thrive. My little one smiles, and gets so excited to arrive, and is happy to be left in their care, which provides huge peace of mind as a parent. I am so grateful for the care and support all the staff I've met have given us.

    We were initially nervous about transferring our children to a new daycare, but those worries disappeared almost immediately. Both of our girls absolutely love it here, and it shows every day. Morning drop-offs are now smooth and stress-free, and more often than not I’m jokingly told off for picking them up too early because they’re having such a great time. The weekly learning program is thoughtfully planned and consistently keeps them interested, engaged, and excited to learn. Under the care and guidance of the educators, they’re receiving a wonderfully well-rounded education in a warm, supportive environment. Mealtimes are another highlight — the girls genuinely enjoy their food and their plates are always clean. We also really appreciate the option of additional physical activity programs, which our three-year-old especially loves. It’s clear that the staff truly care about the children’s development, happiness, and wellbeing. We couldn’t be happier with our decision and would wholeheartedly recommend this daycare to any family looking for a nurturing, engaging, and joyful place for their children.

Fees & Inclusions

The daily fees for 2026

We are an approved Child Care Subsidy (CCS) service, which means eligible families will receive three days per week of subsidised care.

Use our CCS calculator for an estimate of your individual fees, or contact us and we’ll help you with it.

Our 2026 fees are outlined below. Note these fees are before CCS, which will significantly reduce out-of-pocket costs.

Our service is also eligible for Start Strong Fee Relief, providing a further saving for families of 3- and 4-year-old children, in addition to CCS.

Our daily fee is all-inclusive, covering nutritious meals, snacks and drinks, nappies, wipes, sunscreen, bedding, educational programs and learning materials.
